Meet Magda
Magda Joy is an author, teacher, mentor, and facilitator whose work explores the relationship between self-awareness, emotional healing, embodied experience, and the deeper questions of what it means to live consciously.
For more than two decades, Magda has worked with people through teaching, clinical practice, mentorship, breathwork, and spiritual exploration. Her professional background includes many years in Traditional Chinese Medicine, both as a practitioner and educator, and serving as Program Director at the Academy of Chinese Medicine.
Alongside this clinical and educational foundation, Magda has spent much of her life exploring consciousness and the inner landscape of human experience. Her path has included shamanic training, breathwork, meditation, somatic practices, ceremonial work, and extensive personal inquiry.
These different worlds — practical and intuitive, psychological and spiritual, structured and experiential — now meet in the work she offers through the Joy Academy of Self-Mastery.
Magda works with people who are often standing at a threshold: moving through personal or professional change, questioning old patterns, seeking greater clarity, or recognizing that the way they have been living no longer fully reflects who they are becoming.
Her approach is personal and collaborative. Rather than giving people a prescribed path to follow, she helps them slow down, observe what is happening within them, recognize the patterns shaping their lives, and develop a deeper relationship with their own truth, choices, and inner direction.
Her work may include conversation and guided inquiry, somatic awareness, breathwork, emotional exploration, spiritual and ancestral perspectives, and practical integration into everyday life.
At the heart of Magda's work is a simple understanding: meaningful change is not always about becoming someone new. Sometimes it begins by remembering what has been obscured beneath conditioning, fear, expectation, and the stories we have learned to carry.
This understanding became the foundation of her first book, The Book of Returning: A Return to Truth; A Return to Self; A Return to Remembrance, published in 2026.
In the book, as in her teaching, Magda invites readers to question inherited ideas about healing, spirituality, identity, and self-improvement, and to consider another possibility — that our work may be less about fixing ourselves and more about returning to a deeper relationship with who we already are.
Today, Magda offers private mentorship, individual sessions, breathwork, courses, retreats, and immersive experiences through the Joy Academy of Self-Mastery. She also speaks and teaches publicly about consciousness, the architecture of the mind, emotional awareness, personal responsibility, and the ordinary human experiences through which awakening becomes lived rather than merely understood.
Her work is spiritual, but deeply rooted in life.
Relationships. Choices. Fear. Love. Work. Identity. Loss. Change. Responsibility. Joy.
Because for Magda, the extraordinary has never been separate from the ordinary.
It is found within it.
